I've been using the 34 oz for over a year and it's awesome.

From the moment you pick up the Yeti French Press, you can feel the quality. True to Yeti’s reputation, this isn’t delicate gear — it’s solid, purposeful, and designed to last. The insulated construction ensures your brew stays hot longer, and the no-nonsense design makes it a pleasure to use. It has a nice rubber ring on the bottom to keep it in place. . . you know, for all those times your French press goes sliding off a sloped roof. . . anyway.

How to Brew Coffee with the Yeti French Press

Here’s a reliable, user-friendly method we recommend using with freshly roasted Ramshorn Coffee beans.

What You’ll Need

  • 30–34 grams of coarsely ground coffee (about the size of breadcrumbs)

  • 450–500 grams (ml) of hot water at 195–205°F

  • Yeti French Press

  • Scale & timer (optional but helpful)

  • Kettle


Step-by-Step Brewing Instructions

1. Preheat Your Press
Pour a little hot water into the French press to warm the walls. Swirl it around and then discard.

2. Add Coffee
Add 30–34 grams of coarsely ground coffee to the press.

3. Start the Brew
Start your timer and pour just enough water to saturate the grounds (about 60–80 grams). Let it bloom for 30–45 seconds — you’ll see bubbles as CO₂ is released, which improves extraction.

4. Add the Rest of the Water
Pour the remaining hot water evenly over the grounds. Give it a gentle stir with a spoon or paddle to make sure all grounds are wet.

5. Steep
Place the lid on with the plunger pulled up. Let the coffee steep for about 4 minutes (some prefer up to 5 minutes for a more robust cup).

6. Plunge
Slowly press the plunger down with steady pressure. The goal is a smooth descent so you don’t agitate the grounds too much.

7. Serve & Enjoy
Pour your coffee immediately. Lingering with the grounds will continue extraction and can make the cup bitter.

I like this French press because I can use it without a scale and get it pretty close each time. Basically, in the 34oz model, I put 8 tbs of course grounds in, and when it's time for water, I'll pour it up just below the bevel. Weighed out, it's about 15:1 and hits close enough each time. This is the tank I bring when we want coffee in the morning and we're not at home. A way to heat water, whole bean, a compact grinder, and the press. Easy day.
