Brew Review: Yeti Rambler Pour Over
At Ramshorn Coffee, I believe great coffee isn’t just about the beans — it’s also about the experience. I talk about performance a lot, equipment and products that enhance performance. The Yeti pour over doesn't really smack the performance metric, but it's a cool pour over to have banging around in the truck. Like an EDC knife, it's in the rotation.
Yeti Rambler Pour Over.
This rugged, reliable pour over system takes Yeti’s signature build quality and pairs it with a coffee-lover’s brewing style. The result? A portable pour over that’s as tough as your adventures and as dependable as your morning ritual. It is tough; rugged and smooth at the same time.
First Impressions
From the moment you unbox it, the Yeti Rambler Pour Over feels solid. True to Yeti’s reputation, the materials are high-quality, sturdy, and built to endure years of use — whether that’s at your kitchen counter, at camp, or in between flights.
The minimalist design isn’t fancy, but it’s smart: no fragile parts, no unnecessary accessories, just the essentials for brewing a great cup.
What’s Included
The Yeti Rambler Pour Over system is straightforward:
-
Double-wall vacuum insulated Rambler mug
-
Stainless steel dripper
That simplicity is part of its allure. There’s no plastic here — just clean-brewing metal and precision engineering that withstands life’s bumps and knocks.
You'll need to grab up some filters, I use the recommended V60 cone paper filters. They do the trick.
On a side note, I think any pour over filter will work but the V60 fit great and that's what Yeti recommends.
How It Brews
This pour over produces a bold, full-flavored cup with solid clarity. The metal filter lets more of the coffee’s natural oils through, enhancing body and sweetness — a great match for medium and dark roasts, and expressive light roasts alike.
Pour control is intuitive, thanks to the wide opening and stable dripper design. The Rambler Pour Over is approachable for beginners, but it still satisfies the precision brewing enthusiast.
How to Brew Coffee with the Yeti Rambler Pour Over
Here’s a step-by-step method we recommend using with Ramshorn Coffee beans.
What You’ll Need
-
20 grams of freshly ground coffee (medium-fine grind)
-
300 grams (about 10 oz) of water heated to 200–205°F
-
Yeti Rambler Pour Over system
-
Scale & timer (optional but helpful)
-
Gooseneck kettle (ideal for control)
- V60 paper cone filter
Brewing Instructions
1. Heat Your Water
Bring your water to just off the boil — around 200–205°F.
2. Prepare the Filter
Place the V60 cone filter into the dripper. If you like, you can rinse it with hot water to warm the mug.
3. Add Ground Coffee
Place 20 grams of coffee in the filter. Shake gently to level the bed.
4. Bloom the Grounds
Pour about 40 grams of water over the grounds, just enough to saturate them evenly.
Let it sit for 30–45 seconds — this bloom helps with even extraction.
5. Continue Pours
Slowly pour the remaining hot water in controlled circles, maintaining a steady water level in the dripper. Aim to finish by about 2:30 minutes.
6. Drawdown & Enjoy
Let the brew finish. Target total brew time should be 3–4 minutes. Once done, remove the dripper, give your coffee a gentle swirl, and sip!
Final Thoughts
The Yeti Rambler Pour Over is built for coffee lovers who value durability without sacrificing brew quality. It’s not delicate gear you’ll baby — it’s gear you can use. Whether you’re commuting, camping, or just savoring your morning cup, it delivers reliable performance with minimal fuss.
Pair it with fresh beans from Ramshorn Coffee, and you’ve got a morning lineup that’s tough, tasteful, and totally enjoyable.
No complaints. It's $30.00. Harder than a coffin nail and pretty slick looking. I bought mine in white and am looking forward to it resembling Gerry Cheever's goalie mask.
Happy brewing, wherever you are. ☕
