Buffalo Battle Coffee.
Hockey Time
So, I'm a hockey fan. Been a hockey fan my whole life. One of my earliest memories is being with my Dad in our little family room with an old rabbit-ear antennas and a fuzzy picture. Rooting for the Buffalo Sabres. Throughout the first half of my life, they were quite the contender. They were tough, mean, and always had a chance of winning.
Queen City Sports
I grew up in the Niagara Falls, NY just out side Buffalo. We had the Sabres, the Bills, the Buffalo Bandits (lacrosse), the Buffalo Bisons (minor league baseball) and at one time, the Buffalo Braves (NBA). We also had lake effect snow. Buffalo area sports fans endured Stanley cup final losses and the infamous 4 Super Bowl defeats. It sucked so bad but nobody quit. We weren't specially unique, sports fans are rabid and loyal, we just did it with more snow (on average) than anywhere in the nation. Our heartbreak hardened us.
Buffalo Pride
Similar to many other cities, folks are proud of their dirt (or ice) and the teams that play in it. We had cool logos, history, geography, and culture. We've endured my entire lifetime of losses (other than the Bandits, they crush) and my current age in snow a week. We still loved the place and the teams in it. Win or lose...especially the latter.
Buffalo Battle
I wanted to blend two things I know well together. Coffee and grit: The Buffalo sports fan. I loved the light blend single origin Ethiopian roast. Ethiopia is the birthplace of Coffee. Buffalo is the birthplace of tough fans that never lose hope. Even after a 15-year Sabres playoff drought and a 4 in a row Super Bowl loss. . . the fans kept showing up. I wanted to make a logo and a roast to commemorate both of these things.
Coffee and sports
I love studying and the whole process of making coffee. I can go deep into the tasting notes, flavor profiles, and all the coffee stats that would put a research lawyer to sleep, but I wanted to keep this on ice-level. Pick up a bag of Buffalo Battle and commemorate the people that wear the scars that give them hope of a win. They show up, so does this coffee. Not everything coffee needs to be an experience, sometimes you just want a quick cup. So try Buffalo Battle, it can be an experience or a quick cup. Stop drinking the poison slop from chains and brew up a cup of clean organic Buffalo battle. it's like going to a game vs watching it on your friends phone while he's on the toilet. . . . I think our coffee is that good.
